Sharepoint credentials not saved

When accessing EntirelyDigital's hosted sharepoint site with Internet Explorer 8, 7 or 6, even though you check the "Save Password" box when logging on, the site continously prompts you for a username and password, even when opening documents or moving to a section with diffrent access control lists.

To resolve this, log on to your sharepoint site:

https://{mysite} (replace {mysite} with your assigned site name)

  1. In Microsoft Internet Explorer, Click Tools -> Internet Options
  2. Click the security tab
  3. Click "Local Intranet"
  4. Click the Sites Button then click Advanced
  5. Click the Add button - this will add https://{mysite} to the list below.
  6. Click Close then OK
  7. Click the "Custom Level" button
  8. Scroll all the way to the bottom and look for the section titled "User Authentication"
  9. Ensure "Automatic Logon only in Intranet Zone" is selected.
  10. Click OK then OK again
  11. Close all instances of your browser
  12. Open the the sharepoint site again, if it prompts you for username and password, supply your credentials and ensure you've checked the "Remember Password" box.
  13. You will now be automatically authenticated every time you visit the site and open documents.

You can also chose to add https://* to your Local Intranet zone to ensure all URLs are covered and spelling is correct.
